# The watsi Assistant

> The Assistant is your workspace copilot. Ask it about your leads, chats, appointments and metrics; it checks your real data before answering.

Source: https://docs.watsi.ai/en/insights/assistant

The **Assistant** is your workspace copilot: a chat where you ask watsi about your leads, conversations, appointments and metrics, and it answers with your real data. It is the first item in the menu (your home in watsi) and it is also in the mobile app. It can read almost all of your workspace and propose changes, but no significant change is applied until you confirm it.

## Open the Assistant

### Go to "Assistant"
It is the first item in the side menu. In the mobile app it is on the **Home** tab.
### Ask your question
Type in "Type your question..." or tap one of the suggestions, such as "How many leads this
week?", "What are people writing to me about?" or "What questions can't my agent answer?".
### Keep the conversation going
Under each answer you get "Suggested questions" to dig deeper. To start over, use "New
    conversation".

> **Note**
Only **owners and admins** see the Assistant. An advisor (member role) lands on their chats
  instead.

## What you can ask

- **Leads and contacts**
How many new leads you have, where they come from (source and ads) and how your profiling data
    breaks down.
- **Conversations**
Find and open chats, search message text, what people write to you about and why chats get
    escalated to a person.
- **Appointments**
Which appointments are coming up and how your appointments are doing over a period.
- **Your agent and your team**
Each agent's performance, its configuration, the questions it can't answer, your team members
and how the funnel is converting.
- **Plan and usage**
Your plan, your balance, conversation usage and your payment history.
- **Integrations**
What is connected and whether it works. Instagram, Messenger and Meta Ads connect right from the
answer; the rest take you to Integrations.

## Changes you confirm

When you ask for something that changes your workspace, the Assistant does not do it on its own: it shows you a **card** with the proposed change, and it is only applied when you click **"Apply"**. This is how it works for:

- Changing the agent's configuration (saving the version and publishing it are two separate cards; see [Versions and publishing](/agent/versions)).
- Creating a new agent.
- Adding a tag to, or moving to a funnel stage, a group of contacts.
- Creating a WhatsApp template, starting a conversation with a contact using an approved template, or sending a template to many contacts.
- Inviting or removing a team member.
- Cancelling the plan.

Creating a contact or adding knowledge to your agent happens directly, without a card.

> **Bulk sends**
A template send to more than 1,000 recipients is refused. From 200 recipients up, the Assistant
asks you to type the exact number of recipients to confirm.

If you stop an answer with **"Stop"**, the turn is cut short, but anything that already ran is not undone.

## What it does not do

- **It does not book, cancel or move appointments.** Use Scheduling for that, or let your agent book them over WhatsApp.
- **It does not change members' roles or permissions.**
- **It does not disconnect integrations.**
- **It does not tell you how much you billed**: it explains why and tells you where to look.

## How it keeps its answers true

- Every number comes from a query on your data. If it cannot calculate a figure in a report or a table, it shows "—" and tells you which one could not be calculated, instead of making it up.
- It does not offer to do things it cannot do.
- It shows you the instructions you wrote for your agent, not the internal details watsi builds it from.

## FAQ

### Who can use the watsi Assistant?

Workspace owners and admins. A member with the advisor role does not see the Assistant and lands on their chats instead.

### Can the Assistant change my agent's configuration?

Yes, but never without your permission. It proposes the change on a card and only applies it when you click "Apply". Saving a version and publishing it are two separate cards.

### Can the Assistant book or cancel appointments?

No. The calendar is read-only for the Assistant; it can tell you which appointments you have and how they are going, but appointments are created and moved from Scheduling, or booked by your agent over WhatsApp.
