# Team availability and attendance

> Set each agent's hours, time zone and minimum notice, understand how they combine with appointment types, and mark whether the customer showed up to the visit.

**Each team member has their own availability — days, hours, breaks, time zone and minimum notice — used both for appointments and for automatic chat assignment.** What each appointment offers is decided by the appointment type's schedule, and each slot's capacity is the number of assigned members who are free. After the appointment, you mark whether the customer attended.

## Set a member's availability

### Open availability
In **Calendars**, next to the member, click **Configure availability**. That person's
    availability opens.
### Set days and hours
Add ranges per day; use the copy option to repeat a schedule on other days. **Add break** adds
    fixed pauses.
### Pick time zone and notice
Under **Timezone**, pick that person's or the company's. Under **Minimum notice**, pick anything
from no minimum up to 2 days.

> **Note**
Only that person or an admin can edit their schedule. These hours apply to both calendar
  appointments and automatic chat assignment.

### Scarcity mode

With **Scarcity mode** on, your public booking link shows only 3 distributed time slots.

## How it combines with appointment types

- What's offered is decided by the **appointment type's schedule** (the **Schedule** tab).
- A member's personal hours don't limit those appointments, but their **blocks** and **breaks** do.
- Each slot can take as many appointments as assigned members are free.
- The same member can't hold two appointments of the same type at once; different types can overlap.

> **Tip**
If someone's personal hours don't cover the appointment type's schedule, watsi warns you (it can
still be booked — the type's schedule wins) with a link to update it.

## Mark attendance

When the appointment ends, an internal question appears in the chat asking whether the customer attended, labelled team-only: it's never sent on WhatsApp. On the appointment, under **Attendance**, choose whether they attended or not (available after the appointment).

Marking that they attended sends the appointment type's [post-sale message](/scheduling/appointment-types), if you set one up.
