What is Watsi?
Watsi is a WhatsApp-based CRM platform with customizable AI agents. It lets businesses automate customer conversations on WhatsApp while keeping human operators in control.
How it works
You connect your WhatsApp Business number to Watsi and configure an AI agent with custom instructions and a knowledge base. When a customer messages your number, the agent responds automatically — answering questions, collecting information, or routing the conversation to a human operator.
Your team monitors all conversations from the Watsi dashboard and can step in at any time. The platform also provides a REST API and MCP integration so you can build custom workflows on top of it.
Core concepts
AI Agent
A customizable AI assistant that handles WhatsApp conversations on your behalf. Each agent has its own personality, instructions, and knowledge base. Agents can answer questions, qualify leads, book appointments, and escalate to human operators when needed.
Chats
WhatsApp conversations between your contacts and your AI agent or human team members. Chats support text, images, documents, and interactive messages. Operators can monitor, join, or take over any conversation in real time.
Contacts
Your customer database within Watsi. Every WhatsApp user who messages your business becomes a contact. Contacts store profile data, conversation history, tags, and custom attributes for segmentation.
Templates
Pre-approved WhatsApp message templates used to initiate conversations outside the 24-hour messaging window. Templates support variables, media headers, and interactive buttons. They must be approved by Meta before use.
Campaigns
Bulk messaging tools that send a WhatsApp template to a targeted list of contacts. Campaigns are used for promotions, announcements, re-engagement, and event notifications. They include delivery tracking and analytics.
Knowledge Base
A collection of documents, FAQs, and data sources that your AI agent uses to answer questions accurately. The knowledge base powers RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) so the agent responds with information specific to your business.
Use cases
- Customer support — Automate first-line support on WhatsApp. The AI agent resolves common questions using your knowledge base and escalates complex issues to human operators.
- Sales & lead qualification — Engage inbound leads instantly on WhatsApp. The agent qualifies prospects, answers product questions, and routes hot leads to your sales team.
- Appointment booking — Let customers schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments through a WhatsApp conversation with your AI agent.
- Marketing campaigns — Send targeted WhatsApp campaigns to segmented contact lists. Track delivery, read rates, and replies from a single dashboard.
- Internal notifications — Use the API to send transactional messages — order confirmations, shipping updates, payment reminders — through WhatsApp templates.
